M.I.A

A man walked into a bookstore.

He picked up a magazine about weddings, and was reminded of his own. He remembered that nerve-wrecking moment when he decided to propose to her on one of their dates; it was at a casino.

"Baby, you're my jackpot."

As he flipped through the pages of the magazine, he saw pictures of wedding gown models.

"I wished she were here so I can tell her just how much they pale in comparison to her on our wedding day."

It wasn't the grandest of weddings, but they ruled the world on that special day; walking down the isle, making known to the world that they were inseparable from that moment on. All eyes were on them, friends and family alike, as they graced the red carpet like movie stars.

"In sickness and in health."

Rings exchanged, fingers gleaming.

"I now pronounce you, husband and wife."

Nothing can ever take that moment away from them. She flashed a grin as she threw the bouquet of flowers behind. Reliving that scene gave him goosebumps, and it gave him a reason to smile that day.

And he needed to.

"I think she's waiting for me now."

He placed the magazine back and drove to the park with a bouquet of flowers - the very same one he gave her on their wedding.

The park painted a picture of serenity. Located at the most remote part of town, it was the perfect dating spot. He walked across the street, past the park and into the cemetery.

"Five Car Pileup. Victims included two newlyweds."
"Bride died on the spot, groom survived."
